Question : I am 75. 140lbs 5' - 5" My wife died 15 months ago. I have greived without repressing and with the help of a councellor, however, I am waking - sometimes in the night and often in the mornings with a 'thick' headache in the forehead. For many years I have had nosebleeds on and off at about a month or two intervals - they last a few days. Occationally I wake with the headache and a nosebleed. After rising, and taking a walk the headache goes. I have some 'neusence' difficulty breathing deeply lying on my back (okay if I keep it slow and low).
I have what 'feels' like a nerve pain on and off in my neck (around c7) that on and off reaches down my left shoulder. A CT scan showed nothing wrong.
Otherwise I am in (and generally have been) in very good health. Strong heart, good arteries etc.

Those types of headaches accompanied by nosebleeds are often caused by episodes of increased blood pressure.

Chronic sinusitis also may be another condition to consider if the blood pressure after the evaluation is found normal.

I recommend you to monitor your blood pressure several times a day for a couple of days.
