Question : I have off and on pain on left chest area. Pain comes and goes and has been noticeable for about 4 days. thanks

Hi,
Welcome.
This is Dr Sameer, cardiologist.
Chest pain can be because of various causes.
It can be simply muscle pain which increase on pressure or costochondritis which is sharp pin pointed pain.
Cardiac chest pain is diffused, non localized, increase on exertion and decrease on rest.
Chest pain can also occur due to underlying chest infection.
So you need to evaluate for them.
I'll recommend for certain tests- ECG, Chest X Ray & stress echo.
If all are fine than cause is muscle pain.
