Question: I am a 82 year old male. I have been having an intermittent pain on some days ( at any time of the day) in both my legs for the last one year. The pain is mainly in calf region. There is no discoloration and no part is swollen. The pain aggravates if I walk or stand for long period as I am an advocate by profession. Once triggered it does not subside for hours even if I lie flat on the bed. If I try to stretch my leg I get a muscle catch. I have undergone angioplasty in 2014. I have no vices,, spiritual and have an overall good health. Currently I am not taking any medication for this pain except the ones prescribed by my doctors post my surgery. These are tab Evion 400 ; Ecosprin and TelvasH40

Brief Answer:
Needs a few investigations to find cause.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The intermittent pain that you have without any swelling is more likely to be related to muscle fatigue resulting from an electrolyte imbalance thyroid hormone disturbances or low levels of vitamin D3. This is less likely to be due to the effect of Telvas H or decreased vascular supply to the area related to atherosclerosis. All these causes need to be ruled out after a few blood tests and color doppler scan of the legs. You need your serum electrolytes thyroid profile D3 levels and CPK levels evaluated. Do consult a physician for proper prescriptions.
I hope this answers your query.
