Question : I am a 56 year old female who is experiencing periods of pain that seem to affect my shoulders, elbows, knees, hips. I at times have spasms in my back. What I don't understand is that it happens all I. The same time period. It may start in my knees & then it moves to my elbows. My neck & shoulder area, both sides all at once. I have been diagnosed with hashimotos within the last year. Could this be from the medication or the hashimotos itself? I don't want doctors to think I'm crazy so I never mention the pain.

                                    Brief Answer:
Can be due to Hashimoto's.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The symptoms of intermittent pain that you have can be due to Hashimoto's or due to decreased levels of vitamin D3 or calcium. An electrolyte imbalance causing a muscle spasm can also cause such symptoms.
For proper diagnosis it is best to get a few blood tests done after consulting your physician. The treatment will depend upon the cause.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
