Question : For the past 8 hours, I've had this off and on pain near my left rib cage almost extending to the lower portion of my left breast. It sometimes hurts to take a deep breath on this side. Or I would notice the pain when I get up and walk around. The pain comes and goes and I can't tell if its on the inside (lungs) or outside (hurt a rib?). This morning I went on a huge eating binge of junk food and cookies and have had IBS and stomach issues of bloating since then. Not sure if it is related to this or not. Any suggestions?

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome

I appreciate your concern

Based on your description it is most likely related to GERD which is a common cause of such pain. However a cardiac cause should be looked for by performing a baseline ECG. Ultrasound of the abdomen and chest both should be done. Inflammation of the pleura or any fluid accumulation should be looked for. PPIS like lansoprazole with prokinetics such as domeperidone can be advised to look for empirical improvement if no specific cause can be identified.
