What Causes Intermittent Pulsating Sensation In Ribs In An Elderly Person?

Question: For a few months I have had a pulsating feeling under my rib cage on my left side. There is no pain but it is driving me crazy. It is intermittent and I never know when it will start or stop. The only way I can get it to stop is to lie on my right side. It is worse when I am sitting up.
I am 86 years of age , have congestive heart failure, atrial fib., some years ago I had some seizures, one caused a concussion because I fell, gout, neuropathy, arthritis. ulcer, hiatal hernia. My Dr., an internist, told me he didn't know what was causing the problem. My heart Dr. just ignored it completely.

Brief Answer:
Palpitations due to existing heart conditions.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
The pulsating feeling under the rib cage on left side is called palpitations and is known to occur when you have Heart failure and Atrial fibrillation.
That may be the reason your Cardiologist ignored it and may be you are already been the medicines for that which are not working or the dosages can not be increased above a certain limit.
Noted all the history your have noted.
Please request your Heart Doctor (Cardiologist) to look into the matter and add on further treatment for this, if required and felt right by him/her.
I hope this answers your query.
With warm regards.
