What Causes Intermittent Sensitive Pinching Sensation Near Underarm?

default
Posted on Fri, 31 Jul 2015
Question: Hello,

I have a small area under my arm right next to my armpit that feels like a sensitive pinching sensation when rubbing my fingers across it or sometimes when I am wearing tighter shirts. The sensation comes and goes through out the day and have felt it on and off for the last few years. There isn't any raised bumps at all and isn't visible to the naked eye. The best way to describe it is that it feels like a little knot (size is about half a cm) and is only in one location. There is a dull sharpness to it and is usually only sensitive with touch. Thanks for your help.

Brief Answer:
Uncertain possibilities

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

It is uncertain to make a diagnosis or discuss possibilities of hypersensitive skin in an inch of area. Your problem is not diffuse to discuss the closest possibility.

I could only think of a ganglion that may be compressed in the plexus of nerves that lie underarm. If you are absolutely sure that this is bothering your life you should see a Neurologist to get a physical evaluation and expensive tests like MRI to find the cause. If it does not necessary you just put a patch on it every day so that the sensation is lost in due course while wearing a tighter shirt.

Hope this helps you partially.
