What Causes Intermittent Throbbing Pain In The Chest?

And ecg is justified to rule out any cardiac event considering your age
Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir ,
I am Dr. mody and I would be addressing your concern .
Though the pain you describe is not very characteristic angina pain ,
However considering your age , hypertension, you fall at least in intermediate risk for heart issues .
This risk increases if you are obese , have bad lipids and smoke .
It's justified to Get at least an EKG done to rule out any heart problem .
This can be followed by an Echocardiography and if normal a Stress test to complete a cardiac evaluation.
The blood pressure mentioned should not cause the symptoms of any chest discomfort .
If normal EKG the next probability is because of an stomach related issue or muscular pain .
Let me know if any clarification is needed .
