What Causes Intermittent Upper Right Side Abdominal Pain?
Question: hello,i am having intermittent, episodes of sharp upper right sided abdominal pain. began around 12-18 hours ago. nausea with the pain but it will go away when the pain does. the episodes of pain are very sharp, 8/10, but only last around 10-15 seconds. no radiation, no other signs or symptoms.

Hi
Liver and Gallbladder are present in the right upper part of abdomen. Ultrasound abdomen will exclude
Stone in the Gall bladder which causes pain in that area.
If Ultrasound is normal,Upper GI endoscopy has to be done to exclude Ulcer in the Stomach/Duodenum.
Please consult a Surgical Gastroenterologist,get examined clinically and proceed accordingly.
Till investigations, I prescribe Proton pump inhibitor like Rabeprazole and anti spasmodic Dicyclomine to my patients with similar complaints.
