Brief Answer:
Yes! You need evaluation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing to us.

With your symptoms it is very clear that you need evaluation of your problem.

You should consult a gastroenterologist and get your examination and investigation( routine investigation along with colonoscopy ) done to rule out the cause of blood in your stool.

If you have blood in stool then evaluation is very important.( there are so many causes of it, cancer is also kept in mind).

I think I have answer your query if you have further questions I will be happy to help you.

Good luck.

Regards
Dr. Richa

So to follow up, I do not need to go immediately to an Er? I was worried I might have some that reguired immediate intervention. . Like Ischemic colitus....

12 years ago I had a colonsocpy (neg) I had 2 endoscopies and was positive for heliobacter..

In may of this year I had deveoped symptoms of gerd and tenemus. Im currently trying to schedule a colonoscpy and a transnasal endsocpy .. I do not do well under consxious sedation.
When I developed gerd I was placed on prilosec and famitodine

Yes! Ischaemic colitis that's what I am thinking in your case but please do not worry!
Go to emergency and take treatment accordingly, delay is much harmful.
You can develop GERD with H-pylori infection also.
Only antacid not cure this infection you need antibiotic course along with antacid.
