What Causes Intestinal Pain From Right Side Of Bellybutton To Hip Bone?

Question: 58 year old male has dull intestinal pain from right side of bellybutton going down and right towards the hip bone.There is no nausea or change in stool,mostly felt after a large meal.Also no pain while doing physical exercise.

Brief Answer: could be appendicitis or ibs Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for writing to HCM. You could be having either appendicitis or irritable bowel syndrome. First you need to see a surgeon for a physical examination, as for appendicitis, its the most important investigation. Also you can get a complete blood count and routine urine test and an ultrasound abdomen to help come to a diagnosis. IBS is a diagnosis of exclusion.
