Question: HI, I justed started with 10mg lisinopril daily for mild hypertension. I am an avid cyclist, just did 40 miles this morning. I am also hypothyroid and take both synthroid and cytomel . During my ride and noticed high irregular heart beat. I know this because I train with heart rate monitor and garmin edge device. I also experienced a flutter sensation or light palpation. Can lisinopril, cause irregular heart rhythym/heartbeat?

Brief Answer:
Lisinopril is not the likely cause of arrhythmias

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,

Irregular heartbeats are not common side effects of Lisinopril.
I would advise you to check serum electrolytes, if they come back normal and you have another episode of irregular heart rhythm, then you will need an examination, which caused holter monitoring, it records 24 hour ECG, so your doctor will see, what is happening when you have irregular rhythm.

Wishing you good health
