What Causes Irregular Heart Beats?

Question: Hi there,
I have a concern with my heart. When I lay down it feels as though it flip flops and beats irregularly. I also become aware of my heart beat through the day and I get flutters in my chest as if my heart is adding and skipping beats. This is the only symptom I have.
I am 33, exercise regularly, no history of heart issues. Resting heart rate of 60-64 blood pressure can be low 110/57. But I exercise a lot as I am an open water swimmer. I am over weight by around 20lbs but I am fit. Non smoker, healthy diet.
It was since I started exercising hard over the last year that the palpitations started. Never had an issues when I was very over weight and a heavy smoker!
Should I get this checked out?

Brief Answer:
Get an early cardiac check up.
Detailed Answer:
Hi .
I understand your concern.
Based on the symptoms described I advise you get an early complete evaluation of your heart.
You probably seem to have ventricular ectopics and associated arrhythmia.
I advise you to have 24 hour Holter ECG and a 2 dimensional echo to get a detailed assessment .
For this I advise you to meet an expert Interventional cardiologist.
Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.
