Question: I have an irregular Heartbeat as it skips beats frequently at times. Blood pressure and heart rate is normal. I am eighty years old. Should I be concerned about the skipping?

You are concerned about an irregular heart beat. It feels like your heart is skipping. I would strongly urge you to be seen by your doctor and have an EKG performed. The irregular heart beat maybe as simple as PVCs or premature contractions or it could be as serious as atrial fibrillation. Without an EKG we can no hypothesize as to the cause of your missed beats. Therefore, I urge you to see your doctor for an EKG
