Brief Answer:
weight loss would need investigations

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Irritable bowel syndrome is associated with alteration in bowel habits, abdominal pain, abdominal distension.
Weight loss is not considered to be a consistent symptom of IBS and if it is found doctors would normally assess to make sure there are no additional problems present.
Weight loss is considered an alarm symptom.

Vomiting is one of the symptoms that can occur due to this condition.

If the vomiting does not occur when eating in a private setting and only when eating out at restaurant, it would imply that it is related to food used at that time or symptoms of reflux induced by the food or anxiety related to environmental factors.

If the vomiting was an indicator of significant illness, it should occur when eating both in private and public.

The presence of weight loss means that it would be best to have an assessment by your doctor.
This would include physical examination , blood tests such as full blood count, ESR (checks for inflammation of the body).
Further investigations may be needed depending on the results of the blood tests and examination.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
