                                            Question : I have an irritation inside my lower lip - pinkish/white - with a lump underneath.  It is painless.  I wear a mouth guard at night.

It may be due to trauma or irritation caused by the mouth guard you are using. However, a Physical examination is mandatory to assess this since there are variety of other causes like fungal infection and very very rarely cancer that needs to be ruled out. I did not want to scare you, mentioning about cancer in mouth, but as there is remote possibility, I wanted to alert for check up as early as possible.
