Question : Not sure if my boyfriend has genital herpes? I have never had an outbreak, myself and neither has he until now. Neither of us have had different sexual partners sin September, 2014. We are in our 50's and neither of us have had any STD's.

My boyfriend said that these bumps feel like actual "pimples"; tight and hard, similar to a pimple. Not clustery, whitish blistery; just 6 single, isolated bumps not not on the penile shaft.

Brief Answer:
These bumps could be an genital herpes( HSV infection) .

Detailed Answer:
Hello! I have been through your question.

I have seen carefully the picture and I think that these elements most probably could be a genital herpes( HSV infection).

Furthermore you should know that genital herpes infections are mostly asymptomatic and the virus can go through periods of being dormant but some times can cause mild symptoms or painful blisters or ulcers (like your boyfriend)at the site of infection . They are most contagious when symptoms are present but can still be transmitted to others in the absence of symptoms.
As well you should know that HSV can be transmitted from contact skin in the genital or anal area that looks normal and is often transmitted in the absence of symptoms.
The consistent and correct use of condoms can help reduce the risk of spreading genital herpes but condoms only provide partial protection, because HSV can be found in areas not covered by a condom.

During this time I suggest to do HSV 1-2 IgG test to define better the diagnosis and should take acyclovir that can help to reduce the severity and frequency of symptoms, but cannot cure the infection.

I hope my answer helps you.
Feel free to ask me further.
Regards.
