Question : I had sex with my bf two weeks ago since then i am having problems when i pee.
He as no signs of STD and we are using precautions also. I have itching and burnind sensation when i pee. is it a sign of yeast infection.it has been more than 2 weeks..Please help.

Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

Itching and burning sensation during micturition following sex is due to Urinary tract infection(UTI). You need to undergo routine urine analysis and urine culture & antibiotic sensitivity tests.
You then need to take a course of antibiotic as per the sensitivty report for at least 5-7 days.
UTI can also be due to fungal infection & Candida . albicans is the most common isolate.However it is more common among diabetic women.
Fluconazole (200–400 mg/d for 14 days) achieves high levels in urine and is the first-line regimen for Candida infections of the urinary tract.
