Rule out diabetes and infection in the partner, medication for long duration
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to healthcaremagic
Since you are having recurrence of the problem you should rule out diabetes by going for blood sugar fasting and urine examination for presence of glucose.
As you are complaining of symptoms after intercourse you might have contracted the infection from your partner. Kindly enquire from him as he might require treatment as well.
As far as the present symptoms are concerned you need to take antifungal medication for a little longer duration. In such cases I recommend my patients to apply sertaconazole cream for 2 weeks and take tablet fluconazole 150 mg twice weekly for 2 weeks along with antihistamines like tablet levocetrizine as long as itching persists.
For maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence I suggest them to take capsule itraconazole 400 mg once monthly for 6 months.
I hope to have answered your query.
I would be happy to clarify any further doubts.
Good luck.
Regards
