Question : I have pain, itching and burning in lower back, but there is no rash or anything visible to the eye. Its as if something is going on under the skin. Its been two weeks and have tried desitin, cortaid, gold bond cream, benadryl, mexana powder and it has not gone away. Also soaked in baking soda bath all to no avail, and its slowly spreading. Just got gold bond powder, which is helping for now. Its been on me for twenty minutes. All give temporary relief, but no cure. Shingles on the way?

Hi

I understand your concern regarding your skin problem and I hope I am able to help you in the same.
From the description you have provided,it looks like you have developed sine herpes zoster. This is basically the type of zoster in which there is severe pain but no skin lesions .
I would advise you to see a nearby neurologist so that confirmation of diagnosis can be done and specific treatment can be started .
Kindly do not take home remedies since these might not help .
You can however apply calamine lotion for temporary relief .
