Question : My 101 year old mother in law has itching and sometimes pain all over her body even her face. Blood tests are fine. skin looks ok. What could be causing the problem?

I also sorry to hear about what your mother is experiencing. I have reviewed this information and to be honest there is no immediate possible cause that comes to mind. I will recommend symptomatic management of her symptoms and more so because all laboratory findings are normal. I suggest that she apply calamine lotion whenever she has itches for relief. If the itches persist, then we can actually consider giving her benadryl. Let me know whether this makes a difference or not.
