Question : I have been Itching for over a week now, from head to feet. I have had No rashes, hives or redness until the past couple of days. I have a couple of areas that do have some red bumps now. I am scratching so much I bleed and it keeps me awake at night. Allergy pills do not work. There is NO change in anything I use ( detergents, soap etc.) What could it be????

Brief Answer:
Antihistaminic and calamine lotion, go for certain blood tests

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
I have gone through your complaints and you seem to be having pruritus.
It has many causes like anemia, liver and kidney dysfunction, thyroid disease, certain drugs, uncontrolled diabetes and parasitic infestations.
I would recommend you to take antihistaminic like Cetrizine 10 mg twice daily and apply soothing lotion like calamine on the affected areas twice daily for 7-10 days.
If it doesn't improve itching in a week's time get your blood investigations done to find out the cause of itching.
Regards
Dr Asmeet
