Question : I have an itch in my intergluteal cleft, maybe due to moisture (Texas heat!) Skin feels thickened and scaley but itch is concentrated on top of cleft. Tried Desitin with a little improvement, now I feel as if the skin has a small tear accompanied by slight pain. Trying Neosporin today. Any better suggestion?

I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to fungal infection. For such condition I would recommend using ointments with combination of antifungal agents like miconazole and corticosteroid like flucinolone. You can get this as over the counter in brands like micatin. Avoid soaps and irritants to wash the area and instead you can use saline or warm water.
