What Causes Itching And Soreness In Vagina And Anus?

default
Posted on Mon, 31 Aug 2015
Question: I had itching and soreness in my vagina and back passage and around there., sore when I went to the toilet. Also itching on face, back and arms. Red and inflamed on face but no rashes anywhere. Took a Clomitrazole tablet. No improvement. This was 3 weeks ago.
Saw GP 2 weeks ago and she gave me Triderm cream and Telfast 180mg antihistimines. Worked a bit but not much.
Chemist gave me a500mg Clomitrazole pessary three days ago. Just before that I had a white discharge, then clear with specks of brown or blood, then green mucus like. Used the pessary and still itchy and burning around vulva etc...
Saw GP today. Gave me Timodine cream, took a urine sample and I cannot get a swab for 3 weeks.

I meant to add that I had a urine test 3 weeks ago and it was negative. The nurse I saw said the vagina and around was red and inflamed and to get a swab which the GP has told me to book and I cannot get for 3 weeks.

I did have some problem with urine infections before. I have been on lots of antibiotics over the last 4 years off and on for sinus and urine infections but none for around five to six weeks.

I did have immune problems some time ago but blood tests were taken about six weeks ago and everything came back ok.
I did have an outbreak of herpes back then but don't seem to have had bother since.
I do feel very tired and have muscle ache in my legs when I wake in the morning and sometimes it wakes me through the night.
Sorry if I have over stated some things which might not be relevant.
I have cut sugar, bread, processed food and anything with yeast in it from my diet in the last week to see if this helps.

Brief Answer:
need to rule out fungal infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
welcome to healthcaremagic.

I understand your concern.I am very sorry for your condition.
In my opinion fungal infection might be the most probable cause as you have negative urine infection.
I would like to know if you have any conditions like diabetes, anaemia.

As per yours doctor treatment your GP diagnosed it as allergic condition and gave you steroids.

Use of local steroids might also flare up the existing infection in a few people.

The latest prescription cream Timodine contains nystatin which is antifungal. So it should work better than the earlier one.

Long term use of antibiotics is also one of the predisposing factors for fungal infection.

Culture and sensitivity of high vaginal swab might confirm the diagnosis.

And maintain your diet pattern.Kindly go for screening for diabetes and thyroid conditions.

In my opinion the chances of allergy might be very little. So I felt it is worth evaluating in terms of infectious etiology.

Hope this satisfies your query.

Feel free to discuss furthur.

Best regards...Dr.srilatha

Thankyou for your reply.I was screened for diabetes and thyroid and all was fine.

I forgot to mention that I had a Mirena coil put in in December of last year and have had discharge a lot since then but it seemed to reduce a lot. I didn't have anything like what I have had these last few days.

I have tried the Timodine and it seems to be soothing just now.
Can I use timodine round the inside of the vulva safely at the entrance?

I am so sorry to bother you again. The GP did not examine me this time but said she thought towels were causing eczema. I told her there were what are like pimples on the left side of my vagina but not near the vulva.
She gave me Diprobase ointment and told me to use this instead of soap. Can you tell me how to use it please and if I can use it round the vulva before putting on timodine?
I apolgise for not mentioning this before. A bit confused

Brief Answer:
Diprobase is a emollient

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for the information.I understand your concern.
Iam happy to know that you dont have any diabetes and thyroid.
The Timodine is an antifungal and antibacterial cream. It can be applied inside the vulva at the vaginal entrance. It is safe to be used there.
Diprobase ointment is just an emollient to soothen the dry, rashy skin.It can be applied like a thin layer and massaging into the skin
after bathing.
There are no noticeable interactions between the two ointments.
But better using simultaneously should be avoided.
Apply Timodine in the nights and Diprobase during the day time after bathing.
Wear loose cotton inners. And avoid tight clothing.
Hope this satisfies your query.
Feel free to discuss furthur.
Best regards...Dr.srilatha
