Question : A week ago I had itching around my vagina and I thought I had a yeast infection. I took the monistat I day ovule and the itching is gone, but now my area is red and there is white discharge that I believe is coming from my urethra. Is this part of the yeast infection?

                                    Brief Answer:
It may be a yeast infection.
Detailed Answer:
Your description sounds like a yeast infection (particularly if the white discharge is somewhat curdy, smells yeasty). Sometimes a 1 day treatment does not treat adequately.
Most likely it is a continued yeast infection, but could possibly be a reaction to the medication. My guess is more likely that it is a yeast infection.
At this point I'd recommend going in to see a doctor as they can have a look, take a swab, and prescribe medication. Sometimes if a yeast infection is persistent, oral Diflucan can take care of it.
