What Causes Itching, Burning And Pain On The Fingers?

Question: Hello doctor,

My mother facing skin problem on finger. I have attached images please check those image.
For that reason she feels those figures burning and paining and itching.
Please advice

Hi,

Welcome to HCM...

I read history and saw the photos. After that I could get that your mother may be having the infection in nail folds of little finger and thumb...also called paronychia.

You consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis.

I would suggest....

- antibiotic like cefixime 200 mg twice a day for about two weeks
- anti inflammatory drugs like nimesulide 200 mg twice a day till inflammation and pain are reduced
- vitamin C 1000 mg daily
- apply antibiotic cream like sisomycine cream

I hope this would help you in relieving your mothers disease..

momate F prescribed. it is not works. she finished one tube after that nothing improved

Hi,

Momet F contains steroid. It is not proper drug for paronychia. On the contrary, it might worsen the condition. Kindly avoid it. Oral drugs as suggested are needed. Local application of antibiotic cream like nadifloxacin or fusidic acid cream would be helpful.
