Question : What should be done to control itching during dengue fever
It is middle of night 3am looking for a home based solution

You can apply soothening agents like calamine lotion on the area. I would also treat this with antihistamine (Cetirezine 10 mg or Levocetirezine 5mg single dose) or steroid (prednisolone 10mg/20mg single dose) tablet if available. If these drugs are not available, most of the cough / cold remedies contains some antihistamines and can offer some relief - let me know the exact name of any preparations you are having, so that I can advise proper dosage.

Meanwhile, note that dengue fever needs adequate bed rest, proper hydration, and a light diet rich in fruits and veges for speedy recovery.
