Question : Had protected sex on Sunday (so two days ago) and have had itching in my testicle area since Monday. It sometimes can be felt on the shaft of my penis as well and the head but mostly on my testicles. Like I said I wore a condom and even then the encounter was very short as we were interrupted (like not even 20's). The itching isn't painful or to the point that I need to be scratching non stop but I'm just concerned and hope that I haven't caught anything. I'm worried that although I was wearing a condom the skin to skin contact may have given me something.

Brief Answer:
Some information

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

Itching of the genitals is most often associated with yeast or fungal infection. It's possible that you picked up a bit of this. Really, a yeast infection isn't an infection as much as it's an overgrowth of yeast that we normally have on our skin.

Watch for signs of reddening/rash and if this shows up, get an antifungal cream from the drug store and use as directed according to the brand.

Herpes can cause itching too, but it is more of a tingling feeling usually, and also can be painful, before the blisters erupt. It doesn't sound from your description that that is what is going on.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information or clarification.

Well I don't have any blisters forming or anything that looks out of the ordinary happening except for the itching. Is it too soon to rule anything out seeing as though its only been a couple days?

If I go get checked right now will anything show up ? I'm just trying to figure out what to do and how to handle this before it gets worse

Brief Answer:
You can go in and have a test if you want.

Detailed Answer:
Another possibility is that you are sensitive to something the girl uses such as soap, etc.

Without any rash to see, I don't know that the doctor can help other than to do a blood screen. There is a PCR blood test for herpes you can get, but as it is just itching you are having, less chance of it being herpes. It won't hurt anything to go in to be seen by a doctor though.
