Question : I am a 63 year old female with Chron's disease and have an ileostomy since 2012. Lately I have been having awful itching of the palms of my hands and soles of my feet. It is especially bad at night and will wake me from a sound sleep scrating like mad. I have trouble taking medicine such as Benedryl at night to stop the itching as it makes me extremly tired and grogy the next day. I am at a loss of what to do or if I should see a Dr. with this problem it seems so silly when you consider the illnesses people are suffering. Can you offer any suggestions. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Fexofenadine might help. visit your doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hello, are on any. medications for Crohn's disease.
I would advise to get a liver function test done and a complete blood count. Ialso would like to review the medication you are taking. Fexofenadine is non sedative and might help. Please consult your doctor to get an exam and see whether the itching is due to liver involvement or peripheral neuropathy.
