What Causes Itching On The Hands In An Elderly Person?

Question: for some weeks now I have had itchy veins on my hands. It is not too bad in day but disturb my sleep. I have tried a steroid cream but this has not made much difference. I am a woman of 72.

I have gone through your complaints.
I would recommend you to take antihistaminic like tablet chlorpheniramine maleate 4 mg twice daily along with application of a moisturising cream containing white soft paraffin on the entire hands 2-3 times in a day for 2 weeks.
These should help in resolving your itching.

I forgot to say that my veins are also quite swollen, especially in my right hand.
