default
Posted on Thu, 27 Apr 2017
Question: Hi Doctor,
My wife has delivered a baby on 20th Dec 2016.
During pregnancy she had itching in her legs and due to scratching the legs there are marks on her legs. Pic attached.
Now, after delivery there is no itching but, marks are still there. Can she do something about these marks?

Also, there are stretch marks on the stomach. Any suggestions to minimize those stretch marks woul dbe helpful. Thanks.
Regards,
xxxxx

Brief Answer:
Precautions advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir, I have seen the attached picture and would like to inform you that these marks on legs are not permanent and will be fine soon.
Apply scrub on these lesions at least twice a week and get regular waxing for 6-9 months and these will lighten up as skin regeneration will occur eventually.
Stretch marks are best prevented than treated.
Generally nothing can be done and just simple stretch on abdominal muscles can help a bit.
Coconut oil seems to benefit as per some studies but not very evidently helpful
Take care
