What Causes Itching Sensation After Having Amoxiclav?

Question: I am a 49 year old woman. I have a sinus infection and have been taking Prednisone (2 in the morning 20 mg each) and Amox-Clav (875 mg, twice a day). I have taken them for the past 3 days. Today I am a bit itchy, but no rash or hives. No trouble breathing or swelling. Do you think by now I would know if I was allergic? Thank you.
Brief Answer:
Allergic reaction
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
It is possible that you are allergic to amoxiclav however the allergic reaction has been suppressed by the prednisone ( which is a steroid ). I strongly recommend that you approach your physician for a switch over to another drug.
I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me

Thank you for your answer. I will be taking the prednisone for seven days. Do you think after I stop that I will have a worse reaction to the Amoxclav? I am supposed to take the Amoxclav for another week after I finish the Prednisone. Thank you.
Brief Answer:
Side effect

It is a possibility that taking amoxiclav after you stop prednisone can lead to a more florid drug sensitivity reaction. Please speak to the prescribing doctor about this. He is will change over to an antibiotic from another class of drug if required
