Posted on Thu, 4 Jun 2015
Question: Hello, I have what appears to look like a sunburn on my throat and part of my decleate. It itches so bad. It's red and some parts blotchy. It's feels dry to the touch
I recently asked about some bite like bumps on my head and chest. And you said it was dermatitis. which I think it is. Now I get this thing, maybe skin reacting to something?

Brief Answer:
Hypersensitivity reaction possible; pls furnish clear images of the regions

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. I understand your concern, but you should know that there are many conditions that can result in such a presentation, and so I would really appreciate it if you could attach clear images of the affected regions and attach them to our discussion here to email them to:

YYYY@YYYY

with the subject line reading 'ATTN: Dr. Shoaib Khan'

I would really appreciate it if you would do so, but I do agree that there is a chance of this being a reaction to something you have eaten or come in contact with. But this cannot be confirmed without a physical examination and a few blood tests that confirm a hypersensitivity reaction.

There do exist other possibilities as well like hormonal imbalances, chronic underlying conditions, diet related abnormalities, weather-associated effects, medicinal side effects, etc.

I look forward to hearing from you in order to help you further. Please also feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, or with any extra information that will help me in finding the cause more accurately.

Best wishes.
