Question : Hi long story short last night i was going to sleep i noticed some itching sensations on my pubic hair area and a little on my butt cheek. I woke up in the middle of the night with numerous bumps on the mentioned areas and they were very itchy. I think in my half awakened state i declared it as hives so i took one claratin pill and went to sleep. I woke up later and started my day and the bumps still havent disappeared. Its definitely not as itchy but it feels sensitive to touch on quit a few of them and they dont hurt that much at all. I took two benedryl pills an hour or two ago and hasnt disappeared yet whats going on? I sent some pictures
Brief Answer:
I suggest empirical treatment for scabies
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I have taken note of your query and I have reviewed the Images.
I would like to treat you empirically for scabies.
Nocturnal itching and genital lesions are suggestive of scabies.
I suggest treating with either a single dose of Oral Ivermectin
Or
Application of 1% Lindane lotion and left over night to act for at least 8-12 hours would also be effective.
Continue with the Oral antihistamine for a few more days.
Topically you may apply a steroid+antibiotic combination cream, twice daily for from the next day, for a few days.
Make sure you wash and change all your clothing, sheets etc to prevent re-infection.
Regards

Is there anyway this could be hives? Or does the hive's durarion last alot shorter than what i mentioned?
Brief Answer:
Contact dermatitis to cloth is a possibility
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Hives are usually not so localized. Hives may last for 4-6 hours or even longer (usually < 24 hours).
Contact dermatitis to cloth is another possibility. This distribution could happen to a new undergarment.
Did you try a new undergarment preceding this rash?
I suggest you to continue with an Oral antihistamine. Topically you may apply an OTC steroid cream, twice daily.
You could wait and see how the rash behaves over the next 2-3 days.
If it persists longer than that Or worsens, I would definitely suggest an empirical treatment for scabies.
Regards

No i didnt actually use any new undergarment it was straight out of the laundry. But the deterrgent and other variables were all the same as any time before. The only thing i couldnthink of was when i got a cyst removed on my shoulder and couldnt shower for two days. I finally showered last night and it was only starting since then. Maybe i got scabies due to my limited hygenic conditions during the weekend ?

Hi.
How is it now?
Its been a few hours since we had our last discussion. Urticaria should have resolved by now.

I spoke to my local dermatologist in hopes of getting medication like you mentioned but she took a closer look and didnt notice any bite marks or any hints of parasitic activity. Its actually gotten worse and is spreading more. She said it could be because of 1) any changes in detergent (which i didnt do) 2) folluciltis 3) or pharmaceutic allergic reaction. I suspect its the antibiotic allergies because i just finished a two week course of lansoprazole, clarithromycin, and metronidazole for an h. Pylori stomach infection. I completed the 2 week course and two days after i stopped taking the meds it started happening. The dermatologist said to give it about two weeks for the outbreaks to stop and gave some cream to relieve symptoms. I think it makes sense because i took amoxcillin in the past and it gave me severe diarrhea for a few months. With all this into now do you think it could be drug related ? And if so it should stop in about two weeks right ? I left another picture to show my current condition
Brief Answer:
This could be a hypersensitivity to a drug; flexural Pityriasis Rosea
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
I have reviewed the Image and it certainly looks worsened. The lesions have evolved.
I would like to keep a differential diagnosis of Flexual Pityriasis Rosea.
This type of eruption could be a result of hypersensitivity to one of the drugs that you were taking.
Topical steroid creams would certainly help. The eruption should go down by 10 days to 2 weeks on treatment.
An OTC oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10 mg once daily will provide you symptomatic relief from itching.
