What Causes Itching Sensation On The Tongue?

Question: The tip of my tongue has been itching for a few months now and won't go away. it doesn't burn or hurt and it is only on the very tip of my tongue.

Hi, thanks for your query. In my opinion, you might be having fungal infection of the tongue. Allergic reaction of t his might cause it ching. I would suggest you to use candid mouth paint and take anti histamine tablets cetrizine 10 mg in the night for 3 weeks. If symptoms persists, then please consult with your doctor and get evaluated. Thanks. I already take Loratadine....but not on a regular basis. I'll take it daily for a week and see what happens.

The itchiness is not persistant...it comes and goes...it'll last a day...or half a day...then come back in a day or two and last two days.

The same thing happens to the tip of my nose...just inside my right nostril...it can last a day or two then disappear....it can be gone for weeks, then all of the sudden it's back for a day or two and then goes away again.

It is seriously very annoying.
