Question : I have itching and rash around the rectum...I have medications but it has been three weeks? I realize it is hemorrhoids plus a rash but can I do? I even work standing up

Hello,
There are many things that can cause rectal itching. If it is just from a hemorrhoid then preparation H or a steroid cream like hydrocortisone cream can help.
If there is a very itchy rash it may be a yeast/fungal infection and you can try an over the counter antifungal medication like Lamisil (terbinifine).
If these do not solve the problem then you need to see a doctor.
Occasionally people get a bacterial infection around the rectum that requires an antibiotic prescription.
