Brief Answer:
Blood tests needed,
allergy work up.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for your query.
I shall make an effort to provide you with good professional recommendations specific to your questions.
Your long standing condition with
chills (assuming your spikes of increased body temperature) and rash - would require a good comprehensive work up of blood tests including
eosinophil count and IgA to rule out allergy if that is the primary concern.
But, chills makes pure allergy in the diagnosis remote - and other causes likely. Infections need to be reviewed if you are not on any long term medications.
Prednisolone does take care of rash and will need some time to act, but chills may require over the counter anti-pyretic medication if your
liver status is good. I use
Diphenhydramine for some
allergic cough conditions in my patients, and I would offer some non-sedative antihistaminics that are free from side effects if rashes is a concern.
You need to have a little bit of patience, until prednisolone peaks in its action, but once it does - you should feel a world better.
Talk to your doctor of the options as you may need a legible prescription.
Let me know if I have missed out any other concern in your question.
Yet again, I duly appreciate your query to me, I do hope that you have found something useful to help you and I shall be glad to answer any further apprehensions.
Sincerely,
Dr Sujeet N Charugulla,
