Question : Hi i am 7 weeks pregnant and got very itchy red swollen rashes all over my body. I amvery scared as it is continously itching even after applying tricortone cream as suggested. May i know what exactly it is and how long it will continue? do this thing affect my baby?

Hello and welcome,

The description is suggestive urticaria.

This is occurs due to allergy to any substance that may vary from a food or an environmental pollutant or even pollen.

As of now, please take bendaryl syrup 25 mg orally and may repeat it after 6-8 hours if needed. It causes sedation and also it is not recommended to drive after taking this medicine. It is safe for the baby.

Also keep an eye open for any possible source of allergen and see if there is any particular thing that aggravates the symptoms.

If the symptoms persist then see your doctor for further evaluation and management.
