Question : I had my gall bladder removed a week ago. Almost immediately after surgery I developed a fine rash that is itchy that cover my abdomen and lower sides to where my hips are. Recovery is going well otherwise.I do have a history of Stevens-Johnson syndrome but this looks nothing like the rashes I have experienced in the past from that.

Hi and thank you for asking.

I read carefully all your concerns and I can say as follows:

1. Your symptoms like itchy rash after surgery may be related with drug reaction used after surgery like antibiotics , pain killers or NSAID drugs.

2. Another possibility of your situation may be XXXXXXX XXXXXXX syndrome even you haven't used the same drug as before. The symptoms of Steven- XXXXXXX syndrome may be sever form a drug and mild from another drug.

3.Please can you upload a photo of your rash so I can check it by myself.

For the moment stop all medication that you are used and continue taking benadryl and hydrocortisone cream.
