1) I have had this pain for about 1 week
2) I pulled a muscle in my back 2 weeks ago and have had pain in my back, neck, arms

Hello,
If this pain is just from few days then it is not arthritis.Most probably you may have injured your index finger in some trivial injury. I would suggest you to get an x ray of the hand, and if there is any fracture then you can get splinting.
If there is no fracture even then you will be benefitted with bandage.I would also suggest you to take Etoricoxib tablet one daily for pain management. Avoid rubbing with any oil or cream.
