Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for contacting healthcaremagic.
At 50, when you are already into menopause, then the most common manifestation of menopause is OSTEOPOROSIS or decreased bone mass secondary to absence of estrogen production in body now. This would cause the joints to become painful and weak with stiffness on movements.
It is important that you undergo a bone densitometry exam to look for the bone calcium content and accordingly can be started on calcium tabs and bisphosphonates to replenish the stores and preventing further bone loss.

Thirdly , weight reduction is prime in your case and activity and exercise should be a included in your dauly schedule.
The possible cause of numbness in your hands and fingers is probably due to development of cervical spondylosis which causes compression of cervical nerves , thereby causing tingling sensation. It is advised that you may undertake an XRAY CERVICAL SPINE as well to identify osteoporosis induced cervical spondylosis.
