Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend.
Welcome to HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.
See excess of everything is bad. Excessive protein can increase Uric acid in your body which can cause joint pains and also harm your kidneys.
If excess protein is taken it should be taken with high level of exercises. That too should be taken in moderated amounts.
Since you already have RA, I won't advise you to take protein supplements.
They are indicated if you have any protein deficiency.
Instead of taking such supplements prefer to add protein rich foods in your diet like cheese, pulses, soyabean, meat.
In case you have persisting aches get yourself reevaluated for RA. These pains might be due to increase inflammation in the body as a result of RA. Might not be related to protein shake.
Still I would not advise you to take protein supplements regularly.
If you have any further query please feel comfortable to ask me.
Stay Healthy.
