Question: hi dr rynne my name is XXXXXXX faretra iam 52yrs old i have had gout fot 5 yrs i have had now neuropothy for 16months i just recently got on allipurinoll because of the gout attacks coming more often will taking allipurnoll make the neuropothy better or worse ? also dr second part of question my liver counts have been on and off the last few years now its normal but my dr called me to get a ultra sound and urine test because my blood showed my kidney isnt working normal can the liver first and now the kidney cause my neuropothy because my feet and lower legs burn if my dr can diagnose the cause of neuropothy can my burning in feet either lesson or reverse and go away if we can treat either kidney or something else ?? thank u for listen u drs are amazing people XXXXXXX far

Secondly NCV testing should be done to look for type of neuropathy , without that we cannot reach a decision as to what can be the cause behind it. And finding the cause is the first step to treat neuropathy. You are right, the correction of cause can treat symptoms of neuropathy .
