Brief Answer:
blood from urinary tract only in urine
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
Blood from the urinary tract (bladder,
urethra, ureter or kidneys) would only be seen when urinating. Blood in the urine is called haematuria.
There are different causes of blood in the urine, infection is one of them but as you stated a
urinary tract infection would be associated with other symptoms such as frequency of urination, burning or other discomfort on urination, possible change in colour or odour of the urine, fever,
abdominal pain.
If the blood is leaking like a period, it is not coming from the urinary tract.
Blood from the genital system (cervix, vagina, uterus, tubes, ovaries) would be seen with or without urination. When there is a lot of blood, some would come out as a person urinates. This is common during
menstruation.
You may be perimenopausal. This is the period before
menopause when the period change and a woman approaches menopause. Menopause is defined as a full year with no period.
Perimenopause can last from months to years before a woman becomes menopausal.
