Question : I have been taking 15mg of Meloxicam daily for several years. The past three weeks I have had increased knee pain after walking for just 30 minutes. Gotten harder to bend at the knees. I have increased my daily dosage to 30mg. Could this possibly help?

Brief Answer:
This will help but raises risk of stomach bleeding!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have reviewed your information fully. The increased dose will help with pain management but also increases the risk of having side effects from the drug. Bleeding from the intestines is the most feared side effect.

With increased stiffness, I will also recommend you have this knee examined. An X-ray will guide as to whether other measures need to be considered. This will also allow doctors to consider using medications that are less aggressive to the stomach in managing your pain.

I hope this guides and helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.
