Brief Answer:
Osteorthritis

Detailed Answer:
Good evening XXXX. Well the symptoms you are describing look like Degenerative Arthritis known as OsteoArthritis. It is a an age related degeneration of the cartilage between the joints and the first symptoms are usually pain on climbing the stairs or pain while walking for too long. It tends to get relieved at rest. Morning times you normally feel a bit of stiffness which last for 10-15 minutes.

As such there is no specific test for this except the X Ray of the knees. If you could send me your reports and X rays, i would be able to tell you the exact cause.

At present, the pain may have increased due to stress on the knees in travelling and there is a chance that the condition may be progressing. Do let me know your reports and X rays. I will be able to guide you further. Hope the information was useful.

Thank u Dr. My mother in law will return to Managua in a month. I will ask her to provide me at that time her Doctors interpretation of the X rays. Since the actual X rate is in Nicaragua, can her Doctors opinion be enough for you to diagnose? As we don't have it with us at the time, would you be kind enough to consider it as a follow up question at no extra charge? We would appreciate it. Best regards. XXXXXXX XXXX
