Brief Answer: Need more information Detailed Answer: Hi Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic. There can be many causes of pain in both knees. I need to know more details like - Is the pain inside the knee or over the knee? - Do you have any other symptoms? - Did you suffer any injury to knee joint? - How bad is the pain? - Have you gotten any tests done? It can just be a patellofemoral pain or the pain may be coming from osteoarthritis or even an infection of the knee synovial fluid (synovitis). An X-ray is the basic diagnostic test. An MRI is an advanced test that may diagnose meniscal injury or cartilage damage. Waiting for your response. Dr Vaishalee

Brief Answer: Need tests Detailed Answer: Hi again It may be mild case of osteoarthritis. Though it may be something else too. Thus tests are needed to make the exact diagnosis. Please get X-ray of the knee done and send me the reports. In the meanwhile avoid using stairs. Also avoid squatting. Can use aceclofenac for pain, if needed. Contact an orthopedic surgeon to get a prescription for the tests. Hope it helps. Dr Vaishalee
