What Causes Lack Of Energy While On No Carbohydrate Diet?

default
Posted on Tue, 23 Aug 2016
Question: I was put on a no carb diet by my doctor to lower my a1c. My daily sugar levels have come down from over 300 to under 200 consistently. I have been feeling a significant lack of energy and drive for work. It has been very hot here and I have blamed the heat for some of this but was wondering if the change in the sugar levels could be a contributing factor as well. Is my body adjusting to the change?

Brief Answer:
Yes, The change of reducing carbohydrates is also a contributing factor

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir, I have gone through your query and understood your concerns.

As you said, heat reduces stamina to work. But in your case, reduction carbohydrate diet is also major cause.

Give some time for about 2Months. If still, sugar levels are higher to normal and you are feeling too low of energy, then you can ask your doctor to start a low dose of diabetic medication. That would help you.

Mean while, let you diet be small and frequent. Eat small meals every 3 hours to revive energy.

Thank you sir.
