Question : I am 37 years old. I had got 5 weeks pregnant last November which i aborted taking pills. After that for 3 months i had very heavy bleeding for which the doctor advised me take FEMILON for 21 days from 3rd day of my last period to regularize the periods. My last period started on 30th April, 2015. This was the first time i has taken contraceptive pills. I did not know that it had to be taken at same time everyday and that there was any sequence to be maintained. So last pill i took first and one more pill i had taken without sequence. Thereafter i started maintaining sequence. Also i missed 1 pill in between and took the same next night i.e there was gap of 48 hrs between 2 pills. Normally my menstrual cycle is 25-28 days. I took my last pill on Saturday 23rd May, 2015. As per my cycle also i should have got my periods by 28th May but till today, 2nd XXXXXXX 2015 i still have not got my periods. I also has pregnancy test in home for which results were negative. Please advise whether after leaving contraceptive pills for 10 days i still may not get my periods. does cycle changes after taking these pills

I have gone through your history and I want to ask a few questions.
Why you had heavy bleeding?
Is the abortion was incomplete?
Have you had unprotected sex during missed pill?

Taking any other medications?

Brief Answer:
Due to hormonal imbalance.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,

Thanks for your answers.
Your period may be delayed due to hormonal imbalance and you will get them soon.
As you had no unprotected sex ( when you missed your pills) and took them regularly there is less chance of pregnancy.
So do not take any stress and wait and watch for your menses.
Yes, pills may change your menstrual cycle.
Hope it is useful.
Good luck.
