Question : Hi I have a large lump on my head behind my ear that I first noticed over a year ago but was soft and I just now realized has hardened. It is fairly large and I have also been having scalp lesions for the last few days as well as a canker sore that has lasted nearly two weeks and keeps getting bigger... I've suffered from disorientation, light sensitivity and visual disturbances for the last three years but have continuously been told it was due to anxiety when nothing was found. My doctor thought it was a cyst but to let someone know if it got worse. It is now significantly larger and hard, and looking at all of the symptoms seems as though it could be lymphoma.

Brief Answer:
Get the lump removed for confirmation and become stress-free.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thank for your query.
Read and understood your history of a lump behind the ear over a year which was soft and now getting harder and larger, scalp lesions, canker sore; the source for the lymph node to grow.
Since you have thought of lymphoma, it is better to get the lump investigated. These are simple tests.
Go for ultrasonography and FNAC (Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology). This is quite confirmatory.
Since the lump is present for one year, it is best to get it removed for 2 reasons:
1. You get the disease out of hte body and
2. You get a ''confirmed'' diagnosis by Histo-pathology examination. this is the sure-shot way to know the diagnosis and get stress-free.

History of disorientation, light sensitivity and visual disturbances for the last three years but have continuously been told it was due to anxiety when nothing was found is also note. I hope you have undergone necessary investigations by Ophthalmologist, Neurologist and Psychologist.

I hope this answer helps you to get a proper diagnosis, and get a proper further treatment. Please feel free to ask for more or if you need further clarifications or if you feel there is a gap of communication.
